Not every bonding job needs a high performance acrylic engineered for low surface energy plastics at 150 C. A great deal of everyday industrial work including mounting, splicing, laminating, packaging, bundling, POS assembly and stationery converting needs a dependable double sided tape at a sensible price, delivered in the right width, in quantity and on time.

That is what this range is for. Print Impex supplies general purpose double sided tapes on tissue, polyester, foam and PVC carriers, slit to any width from stock, with the same quality control and technical support we apply to our speciality range.

The most widely used general purpose construction. A thin non woven tissue carrier is saturated with adhesive on both faces. The tissue lets the tape be torn by hand without scissors, conforms to surfaces that are not perfectly flat and gives the adhesive layers something to key into so the bond has internal strength.

Typical uses include mounting nameplates and light signage, laminating foam and fabric, splicing paper and film webs, bookbinding and stationery converting, carpet and mat fixing, photo and display mounting and general assembly.

Available in solvent based and hot melt adhesive systems. Solvent acrylic gives better heat and ageing resistance, while hot melt rubber gives higher initial tack at lower cost.

A polyester film carrier gives dimensional stability, high tensile strength and clean die cutting with no fibre pick. Because PET film is thin, the total bond line stays low, which is useful where thickness affects fit or appearance.

Typical uses include die cut gaskets and washers, nameplate and label attachment, electronics assembly, splicing, precision mounting and applications where parts must be cut to a tight tolerance.

A polyethylene or acrylic foam carrier compresses to fill gaps. Where two surfaces are uneven, textured, curved or simply not parallel, foam thickness makes contact possible across the whole joint. Foam also absorbs vibration and dampens rattle and noise.

Typical uses include mounting signage and letters, fixing mirrors and glass, attaching automotive trim and badges, sealing and gasketing, mounting panels to uneven walls and cushioning.

Available in white, black and grey, in thicknesses from around 0.8 mm to 3 mm and above.

A PVC film carrier with high initial tack and excellent conformability. It bonds well to painted metal, plastics and coated surfaces and follows curves without lifting.

Typical uses include automotive interior trim, sign making, appliance assembly, panel mounting and general industrial fixing.

• Rubber and Hot Melt
  Very high initial tack and grabs immediately. Good for porous surfaces such as paper, board and fabric. Lower heat resistance and less resistance to ageing and plasticisers. The economical choice for indoor short to medium life applications.
• Solvent Acrylic
  Builds strength over time and resists heat, UV and ageing far better. It stays clear rather than yellowing. Typically reaches around 50 percent of ultimate strength within 20 minutes, 90 percent within 24 hours and full strength in 72 hours. The right choice where the bond has to last.
• Modified Acrylic and High Performance
  For elevated temperature, outdoor exposure and demanding substrates. If you are bonding polypropylene, polyethylene, TPO or powder coatings, you need a dedicated low surface energy grade from our Special Tapes and Adhesives range rather than a general purpose tape.
