→ Speciality Adhesive Tapes for Assembly, Printing and Electronics

Print Impex supplies the speciality adhesive tapes that general-purpose stationery tape cannot handle: bonds that must survive heat cycling, plasticiser migration, low surface energy plastics, curved substrates and years of service without lifting at the edges.

Our range is organised around four families — double sided tapes, special tapes for electronics and membrane switches, screen printable adhesives, and flexographic plate mounting tapes. Every grade is supplied as genuine branded material, converted in-house to your width, length or die-cut profile.

→ Double Sided Tapes :

Double sided tapes are the workhorse of modern assembly. They bond without fasteners, distribute stress across the whole joint instead of concentrating it at a screw hole, seal against dust and moisture, and give a clean visible finish.

  • Tissue tapes- general and high performance (91091, 91031)
    Tissue-carrier double sided tapes with a conformable non-woven core. The tissue carrier lets the tape tear by hand, conforms to slightly irregular surfaces and allows adhesive to key into the carrier for good internal strength. Used for mounting nameplates, laminating foams and fabrics, splicing, and general panel assembly. High-performance grades carry a modified acrylic adhesive with better heat and shear resistance for applications that see elevated temperature.
  • Black tissue tape (91048)
    The same tissue construction with a black carrier, specified where the bond line must not be visible through a translucent or backlit component - lightboxes, LED panels, display bezels and dark-finish signage.
  • Double sided PET tapes - removable and permanent (9425, 55256, 93010LE, 93015LE)
    Polyester-carrier tapes with high dimensional stability and clean die-cutting. 9425 is a differential tape with one removable and one permanent side, ideal for temporary mounting, splicing and protective applications where one face needs to release cleanly. 93010LE and 93015LE carry low surface energy adhesive systems formulated to bond polypropylene, polyethylene, powder coatings and other difficult plastics that reject standard acrylics. 55256 is a thin, high-strength unsupported-style construction for tight bond lines.
  • Double sided foam tape (9108)
    Foam-carrier tape that fills gaps, absorbs vibration and conforms to uneven or textured surfaces. Used for mounting signage, trim, mirrors, gaskets and panels where the two substrates are not perfectly flat.
  • Double sided PVC tapes (9087, 91088)
    PVC-carrier tapes with high initial tack and good conformability, widely used in automotive interior trim, sign making, appliance assembly and general industrial mounting. 9087 offers strong bonding to painted metal and plastics; 91088 gives higher thickness for gap filling.

→ Special Tapes for Membrane Switches and Electronics:
  • Adhesive transfer tapes (467MP)
    Unsupported adhesive film on a release liner, using 3M's 200MP high-performance acrylic. Because there is no carrier, the bond line is exceptionally thin - critical where thickness affects switch travel or optical clarity. 467MP is the industry reference for attaching graphic overlays to polycarbonate, polyester, aluminium and painted metal.
  • Tapes for membrane switches (467MP, 468MP)
    468MP delivers the same 200MP adhesive at greater thickness for better wet-out onto textured or slightly contaminated surfaces. Both grades cut cleanly on steel-rule and rotary die tooling and withstand the temperature and humidity cycling that membrane switches face in industrial and outdoor enclosures.
  • Spacer tapes (7945MP, 7952MP)
    Double coated polyester tapes engineered specifically as membrane switch spacer layers. They hold the circuit layers apart at a controlled, dimensionally stable gap so the switch actuates consistently over millions of cycles, and they resist the creep that would otherwise change tactile feel over time.

→ Screen Printable Adhesive :

For printers who need to apply adhesive selectively rather than laminate a whole sheet:

  • Permanent adhesive (6010)
    - screen printable adhesive for permanent bonds on printed graphics, labels and overlays.
  • Removable adhesive (SE1720)
    - leaves a clean release for temporary displays, promotional graphics and repositionable applications.
  • UV adhesive (7555)
    - UV-curable system for fast in-line curing on high-throughput screen printing lines.

→ Flexo Mounting Tapes :
  • Plate mounting tapes (1015M, 1020)
    Foam-cushioned double sided tapes that hold flexographic printing plates to the cylinder. The foam density controls how the plate deflects under impression- soft cushions reduce dot gain and bounce on line and solid work, firmer cushions hold fine screen detail. Correct plate mounting tape selection is one of the cheapest ways to improve print quality on a flexo line.

→ How to Select the Right Tape
  • Identify both substrates.
    Low surface energy plastics such as PP, PE, TPO and many powder coats need dedicated LSE adhesives - a standard acrylic will appear to bond and then fail weeks later.
  • Define the temperature range.
    Rubber adhesives give high initial tack but limited heat resistance. Acrylics build strength over 72 hours and hold at elevated temperature.
  • Match thickness to surface roughness.
    Smooth, rigid, well-matched surfaces suit thin transfer tapes. Textured, curved or mismatched surfaces need foam thickness to fill the gap.
  • Consider removal.
    If the part must be reworked or recycled, specify a removable or differential grade from the start.
  • Allow for dwell.
    Acrylic adhesives typically reach around 50% of ultimate strength within 20 minutes, 90% in 24 hours and full strength in 72 hours.

→ Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between an adhesive transfer tape and a double coated tape? -

A transfer tape is pure adhesive on a liner with no carrier, giving the thinnest possible bond line. A double coated tape has a carrier film or tissue between two adhesive layers, adding tensile strength, dimensional stability and easier handling.

Which tape bonds to polypropylene? +

Use a low surface energy grade such as 93010LE or 93015LE. Standard acrylic adhesives will not hold reliably on untreated PP.

Can I get these tapes die-cut? +

Yes - we die-cut to your drawing in-house.

Do you supply small trial quantities? +

Yes, we supply sample rolls and small quantities for qualification before you commit to production volumes.
